'Passion for Life' is a nationwide initiative urging Christians to communicate the Good News of Jesus during the run-up to Easter. But why? ...you may ask?
Well here are 10 Bible guidelines showing why and how we should.
MANDATE – let's obey His command and follow His instructions.
'...he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.'
Matthew 28:19
DEPENDENCY – let's keep in close relationship with Him.
'Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.'
John 15:4
ENTHUSIASM – let's adopt a wholehearted approach.
'Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you
know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.'
1 Corinthians 15:58
BREVITY – let's say as much as possible with as few words as possible.
'The more the words, the less the meaning, and how does that profit anyone?'
Ecclesiastes 6:11
CLARITY – let's use simple language
... avoiding theological terms. '...setting forth the truth plainly...'
2 Corinthians 4:2
OPPORTUNISM – let's seek opportunities.
... and be ready to take them. 'Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone
who ask you to give the reason for the hope that you have.'
1 Peter 3:15
URGENCY – let's realise that we might not have as long as we think.
'As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me.
Night is coming, when no-one can work.'
John 9:4
PERSEVERANCE – let's keep going and resist the temptation to give up.
'Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the right time we will
reap a harvest if we do not give up.'
Galatians 6:9
EXPECTANCY – let's trust the Lord to fulfil His purposes.
'...my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire..'.
Isaiah 55:11
COMPASSION – let's recognise the other person's need for salvation.
'...clothe yourselves with compassion...'
Colossians 3:12
… and let's do all this with humility... with sensitivity, and above all... with LOVE.
